Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. There's no login, sign-up, or account of any kind — open the app and start tracking straight away.
Does FinTracker work without internet?
Yes. Once it has loaded the first time, FinTracker works fully offline and can be installed as an app on your phone, tablet, or desktop.
Where is my data stored — is it safe?
All your data — transactions, categories, and settings — is stored only on your own device, in your browser's local storage. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server or shared with anyone.
Can I back up my data or move it to a new phone?
Yes. Use Export Backup (JSON) under Configure > Your Data to download a full backup, then use Import Backup on the new device to restore it.
Is this app made for India specifically?
Yes — FinTracker is built in India, for India, with INR (₹) as the currency, UPI as a default payment mode, and categories suited to everyday Indian spending.
Does it work on mobile as well as on the web?
Yes. FinTracker is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that runs in any modern browser and can be installed like a native app on Android, iOS, and desktop.
