All your data — transactions, categories, and settings — is stored only on your own device, in your browser's local storage. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server or shared with anyone.
Can I back up my data or move it to a new phone?
Yes. Use Export Backup (JSON) under Configure > Your Data to download a full backup, then use Import Backup on the new device to restore it.
Is this app made for India specifically?
Yes — FinTracker is built in India, for India, with INR (₹) as the currency, UPI as a default payment mode, and categories suited to everyday Indian spending.
Does it work on mobile as well as on the web?
Yes. FinTracker is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that runs in any modern browser and can be installed like a native app on Android, iOS, and desktop.
